I had just come back to grayslake to visit my parents when my car started making an awful rattling noise. I was concerned that I may have to drive back home with my car in that condition. We called Gages Lake Auto at about 5pm (they close at 6pm) and they were extremely friendly and said that we can swing by and they can at least diagnose the issue to determine if it would be a safety hazard or not. As soon as we got there, the employee behind the counter laid down on the pavement and reached under my car and determined that the issue was a loose heat plate. He brought the car into the shop and explained everything and fixed it right in front of us!! His name was CJ I believe and he was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. He genuinely just wanted to help me solve my issue. He and the mechanic did all of this right before they closed and, after coming here, I never want to take my car anywhere else!!!

First time going here. An excellent experience. My daughter came from out of town for a visit. As she got close to home , she noticed a loud rattling from the underside of the car. After calling two Nissan dealers and not being able to get an appointment until Monday (granted this was on a Friday at 4:30 pm), I called Gages Lake 𝙰𝚞𝚝𝚘. Spoke to C.J. who said he was open until 6 pm and if we brought it in he would look at it to at least diagnose the problem. Took it in and turns out it was just a loose heat shield, which they reattached right away. When I asked what we owed he said “ Nothing”. What great above and beyond service! They could have easily told us to come in next week(which we weren’t in a position do). They’ve got a new customer.

Brakes were fixed fine in a timely manner and the oil change was completed, as well.

Came in for an oil change, Ken and the crew found and took care of a bigger issue and had me on the road same day.

Excellent service, broke down on a Friday, called me that afternoon to inform me that my water pump froze and needed to replace timing belt also. Done on Monday!! Also provided me a car. Service was quick and they were great to work with. Will definitely use them again even though I live in Salem. Thank You!!
